Wellfleet Cape Cod Beaches - Marconi Beach
Off Route 6, Wellfleet
Part of the National Seashore, Marconi Beach is famous both for being the site of the first wireless transmission to Europe, and for the steep sand cliffs located directly behind the beach. The beach is large, and stretches for miles in either direction, to Nauset Light to the south and to Cahoon Hollow in the north. The waves are larger and the water colder than the Bay side beaches, with the water in the high 50's to 60's in the summer. This is a great family beach, with easy drop off in the parking lot, lifeguards, showers, changing areas, and rest facilities.
There is a large parking lot. Parking is $10 per day, and a season pass is $30. Season passes can be purchased at the parking lots and are good at all National Seashore beaches.
