Wellfleet Cape Cod Beaches - Great Island Beach

Great Island was, at one time an island, but the shifting sands have changed it into a peninsula and it is now accessible by trails. Kayaking and boating are easy ways to get to Great Island as well. This is used year round as a walking and nature trail, but is popular as a beach as well. The walk round trip is about seven miles, so pack well and be prepared.

There are no facilities, and parking is off of Chequesset Neck Road, about 3.5 miles from Route 6.
