Eastham Cape Cod Beaches - Coast Guard Beach
Doane Road, Eastham, MA
This beach is part of the National Seashore, and is one of the most wonderful beaches you'll find! You walk through the dunes to find a gorgeous sandy beach with good size waves and wonderful blue water. The dunes are filled with wonderfully scented Beach Roses (Rosa Rugosa). The water is on the cold side, and the waves are perfect for body surfing and using a "boogie board". The beach stretches for miles on either direction, with the cliffs rising as the beach goes towards to the north. This is a great beach for walking, and is used year round for surfing. Frequently you will see seals popping their heads up just offshore.
There are wonderful programs offered by the National Park Service, headquarted close by on Route 6. Check out the programs for activitieThere is a changing area and rest facilities at the beach, but no food is sold.
The parking at the beach is very limited, and you need to use the remote lot. A shuttle is provided and runs approximately every six minutes.
